Wtf Car just Lost power...Any ideas??

I was driving to school (10 mins) to day and when I got on campus I punched it to pass a truck, but when I went to turn right into the parking lot I dont know why but i Lost all power except my radio
Any ideas im lost ?????

When i put it in park she started up fine, but i dont want to wait for something to fester up and have me go broke from something i waited to fix so please help.
 
Failsafe mode. How are the temps? Any missfire?

I'm also dealing with the same situation. I mean, i've had this prob for a while now. I can't accelerate hard or else the car will lose power and just turn off at times. From what I gather, it can be a variety of things. I'm starting off with the cheap ones first. Namely, I cleaned out the MAF sensor and then did the fuel injection cleaning with Seafoam. I did those two, still got the prob. Next on my list is buying the whole set of coils on ebay and have them replaced.

Other things to look into... Cam Position Sensor, Clogged Catalytic Converter, O2 sensors, along with a myriad of other things.

I'm looking to having the coils replaced within the month. I'll let you know if that helped. If it doesn't, I'm probably hitting the Cam Sensor next. Good Luck!

I avoid dealers as much as the next guy, but a situation like this might be better off at least left to a professional diagnosis, otherwise, you could end up wasting a LOT of money by replacing perfectly good parts.
 
lse: it's all stuff that i'm ok with replacing. I see it as a preventive measure incase it's not the part. Most of the items on my list are things that you'd considering replacing after 132K miles. If I do replace the cats, it'd be with a full on exhaust system. :) Ain't gonna spend a nut going back to stock. :) The coils are something i've been needing to do for a while aswell. I replaced three about a year back. My mileage went up considerably. But I'm definately gonna go the entire 8 and keep the 3 i replaced as spares. Automotive labor down where i'm at is considerably cheap, so the hardest hit i'm taking are the parts.
 
Yes it started right up and i have driven it without a problem (knock on wood) I also forgot to mention i replaced the stock exhaust with a full borla cat back....so Apathy its not the exhaust

I missed what year your car is so this may not apply. For years I had a similar problem with my 04 LSE. It only happened 5-6 times, but it never left a code after the engine died sometimes after a short acceleration, sometimes on trailing throttle after a short acceleration. Long story short. It turned out to be the electronic throttle body. It was replaced under warranty and no problems since the replacement.
 
this only happened to me once when i was passing a car then i turned right in a street and the car completly lost power

the car shut off and everything hasent really happened anymore since then?
