Well i was leaving for the gym tonight, hopped in my 03' V8 a went to start it. the engine wouldnt start. i held it for a good 10 seconds at first and nothing. it took a few tries then it started up.

what would this possibly mean? i'm not very mechanically inclined but could the spark plugs need to be cleaned or need a new starter soon?

Has it been running rough previous to this problem? Afterwards? The 03 V8 was prone to valve cover leaks which dump oil onto the coil packs, causing cylindar misfires, and possibly rough starting like you are describing. The valve cover gaskets are now under extended warranty by Ford, so if you think yours are leaking, get it into the dealer for a free fix (as long as you have less than 100,000 miles).

Without any more info, it could be several other things as well...worn plugs, bad coils (other than failures caused by what I mentioned above), fuel pump on its way out...anything else you can tell us would help us help you.
