After seeing all the "New winter look" threads. I have a couple questions as this is my first time having my stay car in winter weather.

When I bought my car in California, I drove it to Minnesota and stayed there for only 2 weeks during the winter of 2009. Now that I'm staying in Wv and it's winter. Reading the threads and wondering about this. I read that the chrome can become pitted. Which I think one of my center caps have.

1. Do I need to change my rims?
2. What type of year round material is good for rims?
3. If going from stock 17s to non-stock 18s, is there anything I have to change? Besides the tires lol.
4. If my rims do become pitted and messed up I will replace them. Which ones do you guys think would look good on a black LS? I like all of them but leaning more towards rim C. I would probably replace the star with the Lincoln Logo.

Well you have to make sure the offset of the wheels are the same or extremely close to the same.Luckily wheels site's save time for you and you just pick your car,and they show you what wheels will fit with no problem. If there was a loaded gun to my head and I had to choose out of the 3 I'd go with the first, but there's not so I'd go with something like this

Seems like you're going with 5 spoke right? The wheel and tire package is cheaper than kmc and idk about the others, but can't be that much more or less.Just my opinion and personal preference,in the end go with what you like.

I like those black ones. Yeah the site search is what I used when searching for rims. If my rims do get messed up I'll be making the jump on new rims and just wanted to get some heads up on what to be expecting.

What do you got stocks on now?Yea either ones would look good on a black ls.

Yeah, I have stock rims. I want something black with a small yellow stripe, but I've had trouble finding some that I like and look good.

These...

Just updating with some pictures of rims on an LS. The picture 1 and 3 is the same rims as "A and C"
I couldn't find the others.

After seeing them on the car I like the first ones better.

not really a fan of those wheels, Although I am getting Rotiforms when I pull the trigger. Probably not this year but next, got way to much other :q:q:q:q this year.

I really like both of these they are forged 3 piece

First is the Forged BLQ and the second is the Forged concave NUE

Those would look good.

I think both would look awesome on our car, they can have custom barrels and custom drilled, as well as powder coating

There is a member on here with the wheels you have photoshoped on the first LS. They looks ok i guess.

I have my TSWs on all year around with chrome lips. We haven't gotten much snow this year, but to be honest if you hose off your wheels every couple days and wash them once a week to 10 days, you don't have to get a winter set-up.

+1

an to answer you question... its not the winter thats bad on chrome wheels.. .Its the salt and chemicals they put down that affect chrome... factory chrome i believe is manufactured to handle these extremes better than aftermarket. but thats why most people take there aftermaket chrome off during the winter. If you keep your factory's clean... then you shouldn't have a problem.... jm$.02
