Anyone getting it? I wound up preordering it because I'm a student and had a chance to get it for 30 bucks.

Where'd you get it from? I did what was called the Ultimate steal and got Windows Office for really cheap.

To tell you the truth I was just floating around the internet, but if you search for the college student deal and have an active .edu e-mail, a confirmation link gets sent there and then when you confirm you can download it online on Oc 22nd. How'd you get office for cheap?

Again, this only applies to students. Since I am no longer a student I had to get it the old fashion way: Pre-order.
I've been using the Beta and RC versions since last year. They run great! Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade from RC to retail. I'll have to buy a full version copy to go along with my preordered upgrades (I have 3 PCs). I have heard news of a "family pack" that allows you to upgrade 3 PC within your houme for a "discounted price" compared to 3 retail copies.
The RC is good till March, after that I'll have to make some changes to my office PC.

BTW, you can find Office for "cheap" here.
I'm running Office 2007 Enterpirse ed. It take a bit of getting used to but it functions well.

I already have it (ultimate)...it's great. Takes up half the space of vista and runs 2x as fast.

Office Enterprise did not require activation codes. It just worked. It is very popular on the torrent sites so always check the files you receive for viruses prior to any execution. You can find anything you want on torrent sites. Just be careful, know what you are doing. Some of the content may be protected by copyright and that can lead to trouble.... your ISP can shut you off or worse, you can be fined for sharing copyrighted material.. Bottom line, do not share copyrighted material!




BTW looks like I'll be getting a FREE copy of Signature Edition Windows 7 Ultimate! I'm stoked for free stuff. Guess my RC machine will see new life in October after all.
