So I had my window regulator break a part broke on it. So I got a replacement from some guy parting out his lincoln ls parts. Put the new one and it worked for a couple weeks and then it would go down but wouldn't come back up now it doesn't do anything. All I hear is the relay clicking when I hit the window button. But the other window buttons still work as they go down with no problem.any ideas?

Go to autozone or o reiilys, buy a new one.. they have lifetime warranty on the dorman regulators motor. And install a new one.. these parts go bad all the time.. if that one breaks, just take it back to the store they will replace it under warranty. Also make sure you install it right when you install it

I discovered one of the clips on my regulator broke about 3 weeks ago. Ford sold me the regulator without the motor for a hundred and some change. Install was pretty straight forward and smooth. only issue I ran in to was that the window would roll to the top and then automaticly roll down about 90% and stop. After 2 hours of messing with it my Ford dealer told me to take the motor off the regulator and hit the switch down a coulple times and then reinstall the motor and regulator. FIXED,, I guess these smart cars learn where the down position is at and remembers how far the normal travle is.

Long story,, but I'd definatly buy that part new considering the aggravation of reinstalling another when the used one breaks.

2 cents..

Yes, they do. But there is an easier way to recalibrate them.

Lower the window all the way with the switch.

Press and hold the switch in the auto up position. Continue to hold the switch until five seconds after the window is all the way closed. The auto up/down functions should work correctly after that.
