its not the regulator....i dont think so anyway....
when i put my passenger window down, it stays down and wont come up. when use the window button, the top of the window peeks above the weather stripping, then goes back down.
3 times this has happened. all three times i had to use pliers to help the window up. i can put the window up and down with the button, but it makes a slight grinding noise.
what could it be?
thanks!

Sounds like a regulator going out. The window regulator is the only thing that makes the window go up and down. If it getting hard to go up eventually one of the cables are going to snap. Trust me, been there and done that. Go ahead and buy a new regulator and save yourself the headache.

I just assumed that if the window just dropped it was the regulator. Thanks for the help

sounds to me like only one side of the track broke...same thing that happened to me. when mine started, I noticed that when the window was up, there was gaps in my window tint...I didn't realize it till it broke, but only one side was broke and it was causing the window to go up crooked.

when it finally broke all the way, the window would come up about 1/2 an inch, then dropped into the door.

a replacement from advance auto at about 97$ was the fix
