Will It Fit????? Need Help

I was wondering if anybody knows if the GEN II intake manifold will bolt directly up to a GEN I motor? If so what all needs to be modified or bought to make it happen? because that is worth 30 horsepower right there.....so if anyone can help let me know...THANKS

you wont get 30 more HP from an intake manifold on this car. The 30HP more on the Gen 2 is a combination of things. Variable Valve timing, intake path and routing, less restrictive exhaust and Im sure a few other things.

the HP increase is largely from the variable valve timing... certainly not the intake

is there any power gains from the 2nd gen intake manifold?...also, is the stock thunderbird throttlebody bigger than the stock 1st gen ls throttlebody?

Instead of trying to bolt on a lot of Gen2 stuff it would likely be cheaper and easier for you to sell your Gen 1 and buy a Gen 2.

When you consider things like the throttle by wire and differences in the computer, it is extremely unlieky you will be able to get a Gen 2 intake to work on a Gen1.

didnt know thunderbirds are drive by wire, and yeah, i guess it would be easier, but i like mine...someone figure out how to get a 4.6 in there and running good...
