You'll need a different johnson rod. They changed from 00 to the 01-02.

I know that it works 2002 to 2001. I am hoping to get a low mileage one for the white one or swap from the black one to the white one.

I've heard the black johnson rods are bigger than the white ones. You may have to prep the fitting with some lube to get it to fit.
