I have a 1996 Mark (Gen 1). Recently the parking brake light (on the message center) has been coming on when I turn (either way) when I brake reasonably hard, or accelerate reasonable hard. Obviously, this is happening when the parking brake is NOT engaged as well. It seems something is loose to me, but where to look? Any suggestions?

Not sure about marks, but in my 150 the switch was going bad, causing it to come on every now and then. The switch on the parking brake. But the way you describe it, it sounds steering wheel related.

check your brake fluid level. if its low, it will set a brake light message..

Hope that helps!:D

+1

some people just "look at" the master cylinder and if they see the fluid in there they "think" it's full.
open it and top it off..

My parking brake lights flashes on and off while I drive but if I hold the parking brake pedal over with my foot it stops for a few days... just been to lazy to dive into the pedal and figure out WTF is going on.

I dunno.... the parking brake works great, my driveway is a hill and I always apply it to take pressure off the little parking prawl deal in the trans... I love the auto off feature too!
