who runs an auburn pro diff

this isnt about the mark viii but i know some of you guys run the auburn pro differential. i know the backlash and preload was set correctly but when i really get on it i have a noise.. like a squelch.. kinda hard to describe but i was wondering if you guys experienced this or not... thanks

did you do the gear run out on it. it is important to have the correct gear pattern on a run out. it should be a cigar type pattern on the ring gear in the center of the gear. if it is not in the center of the gear or if you skipped this step your in real trouble.

yeah the pattern looked good according the the guy that helped me install it... he sets up his rear ends for his drag car all the time. its not a gear noise and it doesnt happen all the time. it seems like the clutches need broke in on the unit is what it sounds like to me

Did you do multiple figure 8's? Did you use friction modifier?

i have one in my mark viii. i payed someone to set it up and its been great ever since.

try doing the multiple fugure 8 s and see what happens. maybe they just need to be broke in. under hard accel they shouldnt squeel though. the clutches should be fully locked.
