I am getting a warning that my AC filter needs replaced. Rockauto has two filters listed, a pollen filter for $16 or an activated Charcoal filter for $30. which one do i need?

"need"? You only "need" the $16 one. The Charcoal is alleged to help filter out outside smells as well as the pollen.

I plan to once again save $16 and used compressed air to reverse blow out my current filter an reuse it. Go Green!

Depending on how long it has been since you changed the filter you can reset the filter life. The warring light seems to be based on mileage and time for I don’t put a lot of miles on my LS, I still get the warning every 9 months. I change mine at about 16k, here in NV it is very dusty. I went with the activated charcoal filter to help remove odors.

As lseguy suggested said check it first you may not need to replace it this time.

If you already read your owner’s manual, then you know how to reset the warning.

I replace mine every other time I get the warning. It is always in good shape when the car says replace. I put about 20K a year on the car though. I just ordered up another $16 from rockauto on thursday.
