Have any of you tried useing wheels adaptors on your LS ? I'm was considering switching to a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern and there appears to be 2 adaptors aval .One is 1" thick and the other is 1.25" thick .,,,not sure which to go with ....

By going to a 4.5 pattern opens up to more styles of wheels as a 108 pattern is somewhat limited . Also anyone know how long the studs are on a LS ?

thx

Those adapters are way to thick. I user a very thin SPACER with 19's and I still didnt drop the car and I get rub every here and there.

I know that the thickness will move the wheel out but if you were to order wheels w/ a offset to compesate for the thickness of the spacer it should be work .Problem is most people just order a wheel w/o taking that into consideration

No it wont work, the stud is way to short for that thickness. I have the perfect offset with a 19x8.5 and it still rubs with a spacer of less than a 1/8 of a inch thick. Besides that point, the stud is barely long enough and I am taking them off when I switch to winter wheels this week.

The only good way around the offset and bolt pattern issue is made to order wheels. Very costly unless you are willing to take very, very good care of the wheels.

It looks as if the space for the lug to fit is not a deep enough bore. You can try them but I really wouldn't count on them working properly. Pluss the space the lug fits onto still looks to thick.

Another thing is that exceeding the length is stressfull on the axle if I remember reading correctly.

A spacer at most like the one I have would be OK but you will need to realize either way that you will not be able to perform. It will be risky on the axle and you would at most only want to cruise at slow speeds and not really exceed the speed limits safely.

Also, unless you plan on running something XXX/x7.5 or XXX/x8 you may have to do other work with the fenders and possibly run a more narrow tire with a lower profile than most of us do.
