When pulling in and out of my driveway (rocks/pebbles) it sounds as if my tire is going to fall off (clunking sounds). I think it happens other times also, I just haven't really paid attention when driving.

Could this be the ball joint or something else?

If it is the ball joint would these be good? I do know I have to replace both for good measure.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LINCOLN-LS-V6-V8-LOWER-CONTROL-ARM-BALL-JOINT-SET-14MM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aLincolnQ7cModelQ3aLSQQhashZitem1c17c0c2fbQQitemZ120657593083QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2549wt_939

lift up that corner and check for play (up and down), if you have play its probably a bad joint...

check the boots on the sway bar links for tears.

If none of the above applies, you will need to replace the sway bar bushings.

Ford doesn't sell the bushings separate anymore.

You can get a new bar with the molded bushings for ~150.

You don't need to buy the whole sway bar if it's the sway bar bushings. Myself and others on here have replaced them with EngergySuspension bushings. The size that you need depends on weather or not you have a sport or non sport LS.

I have the sport. I know I would need a 16mm ball joint (not the one pictured in OP) but they have them for $103 if I need'em.

Would that be the same size for the bushings?

if you have a sport, its 30mm... But I cant recommend them right now, as I am having trouble with them getting loose after only ~20,000 miles. Which is why I recommended a new bar.

30mm bushings?
