Whats it worth? What would you pay?

Sold my 98 lsc. (bad tranny and suspension.) Found a 97 lsc with 80k and in very nice shape. But he's asking $8000. I want the car but how bad am i being taken? Plus I'm driving a Windstar right now. What do you think?
