So my car has been in the shop since friday with bad coils, bad VCG, bad ball joint, bad swy bar. I have a warranty through www.exoticwarranty.com, got it when i bought the car. Now heres the thing. this company is real pain in the ass. the dealer said theyve never had to deal with as much :q:q:q:q this company has given them. So the comany sas theyll replace the VCG (i just replaced 1, but theyre gonna put a new one on) but not the coils (they said clean the coils, lol). they say they dont cover coils, nor any parts that go bad due to another going bad, also non of the suspension s covered. My dealer said thats unlike any warranty company theyve ever dealt with in theyre 20 years of doing this. they dont cover diagnostic (100 bucks) and have a 200 deductible. Ive been bitching all day to these guys and nothing has changed. Is there anything i can do or am i SOL. They lost my address and never sent me a copy of my actual warranty, they say the got the zip code wrong, and the dealer never gave me anything. Ive called the dealer and bitched (in chicago, so i cant take my car there).
Should i just LIG (let it go) and go buy new coils and wait to get the other stuff done. Is there any legal action to take, i have the best business laywer in st. louis. Im FURIOUS as you can tell, any help or advice please send it my way, SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.

Go up the chain of command till you get the answer that you want. My aunts garage burned down and they were not going to give her money for the stuff that burned up. She got the name and number or the VP and continued to dial the number till he answered and got what she wanted. Took her close to 4 hours to get through, but got what she wanted.

where did you BUY the warranty. you may be able to push and get a refund for it and that cash will hopefully cover your repair costs.

i got it at foxvalleymotors.com (sites not working) and i called them today but the guy i need to talk to isnt in till thursday. im hoping something will come out of this.

At first they said i had no warranty and my car had too high mikleage but then they realized they had messed it up in theyre computers, this company i so full of it. my car has 2k miles left on the warranty and about 7 months. so in about 2 months itll be up

damn bro sorry to hear about your troubles. i'd buy you a beer if i could. what is the dealer quoting you on the repairs? i've heard a lot of bad stories about aftermarket warranty companies (i was in the market myself for awhile and ended up not going with any of them). it might be best to just bite the bullet on this one because warranty companies are pretty good at sneaking their way out of things like this. they probably have access to more lawyers than you too.

Have them send you the warranty info, circling the portions that they believe absolve them of responsibility, and hire a lawyer for $125 an hour. They can review the paperwork in an hour and give you their opinion. Might even be able to write a letter on your behalf for that same $125.

Honestly, you need to become more threatening. A lawyer will do that. I've dealt with this before, trust me, get "more threatening" than a phone call. They are in business because people like you with LIG.

This is, of course, predicated on the fact that your warranty is not as stupid as it sounds.

the warranty is on the site i listed, of u click cars and DL warranty thats the same info i have. I have looked through it dozens of times and cant find anything.

About my lawyer, im planning on getting him involved, i wanted to get otehrs info before i fork over money to him for nothing. like people say its always better to get other opinions, also i was pissed and i knew that my lvc family would help me out.

$125 per hour? Maybe in Armpit, NV, but not where daddy's lives. If daddy's is speaking the truth, the best business lawyer in St. Louis is NOT charging $125 per hour. Figure $350 per hour minimum.

Daddys, was there a reason you chose this particular extended warranty?

As a general rule, its always best to go with an extended warranty that is backed by the manufacturer. As you are painfully finding out, third party warranties can have major problems -- making a claim is like fighting with an insurance company.

Unfortunately, this is a classic example of third party warranty performance. From personal experience.... At the very minimum, shop price and features online and then take that information to the dealer whom you intend upon using for service and see if he'll match it. I think they'll almost always do so, since they have TONS of margin in extended warranties. Then, when the warranty company attempts to duck responsibility, the dealer will be more aggressive in getting them to pony up, since they're the ones that sold you the warranty. My warranty company wanted to clean up, reinstall and test six of eight coils that were fouled by oil leaking from the valve cover gaskets. The service manager spent literally hours on the phone and in person with the "adjuster". In the end, they paid for the coils and the gaskets. I believe if I'd bought the warranty elsewhere, I would've never gotten the effort from the dealer.

In this case, I'd make them SHOW you in the contract where it says that they're not responsible for any part that was ruined by another part. (That's BS) Usually, they'll laundry list all parts covered or those excluded. Which list are the coils on? If they can't document non-coverage, then often a simple letter from an attorney will be sufficient.

GOOD LUCK!

Mine is $175 an hour, though I do not know about STL area.

This is document review, not a murder trial. If you are paying $350/hr then you must have money to burn - an internet lawyer company would do it for much less.

Ok this may sound stupid but why wouldn't people go with a ford extended warranty? I bought one and have nad no problems out of it. Granted it was almost 2 grand but they cover everything except maintence and emissions. But there are even ways around that. ex: I needed the trans serviced. Told them I was having problems with the transmission shifting hard. They did find a bad solenoid but I also got a free trans service because they had to drain the fluid to fix the solenoid. I have had very good luck with the ford warranty and highly recommend it. Sorry if this wasn't the place for this post.

This is the absolute best idea.

(I keep a running total on how much they've paid out in service vs. how much I paid for the warranty. I need about $800 in service, with 30K miles left on the warranty. You can bet I'll figure out some way to make sure that I at least break even.)

if u signed a contract with them then ur screwed.. seems like u went with the cheapest warranty place u can find tryin to save money and u got burned.. i say u pay for it and have ur lawyer go after them.. if u wait till after the 7k miles then the warranty expires and ur SOL... good luck man

It sounds more like a "Your Warrenty is about to expire!" scam that comes in the mail. How would they know? I have extended warrenty thru the dealer.

How much experience do you have and where do you practice?
