what tire should i go with, with 17" jag wheels

27's are pretty big for the LS wheel well. I think 245's are standard for Jag wheels, if it's a 8 inch wide wheel that's the standard size for it.

Whoops, I think 245/50 would be a little more comfortable, 245/45 would handle a little better with a little more response. I wouldn't go lower than that.

found 27" jag wheels for 199 for 5 and need tires on them, ive heard 245 45 17 or 235 50 17.
If those are 7.5"/8" wheels, both 245/45R17 and 235/50R17 should work, but the 245/45R17 tires will be less expensive, as it's a more common size. The Avon Tech M550 A/S "tyres" in 245/45R17 at $108 each should work well ( http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y) ).

If you just want tires to get you through the winter, you have other options, including a few that are under $90 each.

1. who the f are you to tell me what to buy or what not to buy? do you ever have anything good or worth while to contribute to this forum?
2. I need winter wheels and I came across wheels that go for 400/piece for 200 dollars and Im going to buy them. I need to put them on my car for the winter and also to be able to take it off carx's lot.
Next time I want some ignorant half ass reply Ill make sure to PM you so your not wasting everyone elses time. Until then just skip over my postings.

Gotta side with Bill on this one. Dunitright, keep the negative comments to yourself. There's a difference between constructive criticism and being a jerkoff. Don't cross the line.

1: So far I have had a hell of allot more than your complaining, whining and bull :q:q:q:q lies.

2:KD00LS, as you wish.

Jag 17" wheels are 7.5" wide same as the LS's 17s. So you need 235/50/17 (stock) or 245/45/17 or 255/45/17.

I put a set of BFG Traction T/As on my old Toyota just because they were cheap and I was selling the car. Turned out to have great snow traction, but a little noisy on the highway.

You might take a look at these $101 Contis: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y)
There are less expensive tires in the category ( http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compa...&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y)&startIndex=0 ), but these are the lowest-priced in the category with good snow/ice traction. I'm not sure what sort of winter you'll get in St. Louis, but you might be able to get away with the $86 Sumitomos (which look to be significantly worse than the Contis in snow/ice traction).

I used a Kuhmo Ecsta ASX for a couple of winters in a 245/45/17 and they were pretty good and easy on the wallet.

I have been trying to find the Federal Himalaya snow tire. It has great ratings and looks real mean and aggressive for a snow tire.
