Well Ive decided on the alpine type rs they are in my price range and get loud enough for me, I am going to go with a dual sub setup so what would you guys recommend, do I get 2 12s or 2 15s, I listen to rap/hip-hop and like the lows and want SPL not too much of an sq guy, will my amp even power 15s? I have a Viper D1200.1 (1200wrms@1ohm) so each sub would be getting 600wrms, The 12s are 500wrms and 15s are 750wrms, I think the 15s would be louder but what the hell do i know??

if you get the 12s you will be giving them what they need, but will be underpowering the 15s, the 12s will be more clear and responsive as the 15s will be more sluggish. thats just my opinion go with the 12s

i have 10s as well... 15s would be too much bass for me, especially in a little car like the LS
12's would be easier for u.. 15's would have lots of custom stuff to be done to make them fit.. take the measurements of ur trunk and of where u want ur subs to be... thats the first step i took to realize 15's wouldnt fit where i wanted them too..

while the 15's may have a deeper bass the 12 will respond better to the air space in your trunk as to the viper amp that will most definitely set those 12's off just right with the rap and hip hop music you listen to. I have 2 12W3V2D4 JL in my trunk in a sealed box but i think i need a custom box to get what they can really do. i really have powered at the setup i have on a Memphis Power Reference 300.2 that has much more power than i have it set up for. Bass also depends on your specs for the subs. Good lukc with it.

Basically everyone is saying go for the 12"s because of the space and better sound. i wouldnt really go with 15"s unless in a truck because of the trunk space. 15"s are too big your car would rattle way too much and you would have to dyna mat the whole car. also 12"s are a little cheaper so you can spend more on a custom box with ports or anything you might like. Unless your gonna keep you trunk open or the back seat down you not gonna get the tru 15" sound.

i'll sell you 2 brand new 10" Re Audio Se's for 300 bucks. they will sound better then type r's and get louder. perfect for a 1200 watt amp. The subs are brand new in the box.

man those RE sexxx subs are excellent i cant seem to find them here in austin at to many places ..if i didnt already have all these subs right now i would get those off you. i have 5 12" subs 3 JL W3V2D4's and 2 Memphis M3's plus 2 10" Kicker s10d's solobaric (round) which i will never get rid of these old kickers can take a beating and still produce as if there right out the box new..goodluck selling those
