what is with vogtland...

I have been trying to order a set of vogtland 1.6" lowering springs since friday. Found a good deal and ordered them... then i was told they 1.6" are on a slow boat from germany so i cancelled. Ordered from vogtland USA cause they said they had them in stock... now i get a call saying the 1.6" are discontinued.... WTF.... everyone keeps trying to offer me the 1" lowering springs... I dont want that... lol
 
so who makes a decent 1.5" or more drop for a t-bird??? they only company i can find is H&R which is what i originally wanted but they were alot more $$$.... the eibachs are only 1.2" it says....
 
I've had the H&R 51624 springs on my SC for well over 10 years now. You get what you pay for.
 
yup, H&R are discontinued... wtf...

really all thats left is Eibach i guess....
 
I had the same problem when I tried to order the Tokicos from two separate places online. I have come to the conclusion that a lot of these places, or at least two :rolleyes: have horsechit inventories that are not updated properly and then it throws a red flag at their end when you go to order. My advice to you would be to call these places and make them put a set of eyes on what you want to buy. It can be done. There are plenty of monkeys running around in those warehouses.

I bought my tokico lowering kit on Amazon..had to wait like a month for them to become available again but it was worth saving $300 compared to buying direct.
 
I've got the Eibach 1.5 springs and the tokicos illumina shocks on all four corners. I love them.
 
I ended up ordering the Eibachs... Every place I called this afternoon that has vogtlands listed where out.

My tokicos i ordered from Amazon showed up yesterday. Have everything for the swap but springs. just waiting now.

BUT... Im about to lose it.... I am so freaking pissed off right now.

Its almost a month later and I still dont have springs. As I said in my first post, I ordered Vogtland springs and was told they were backordered, so i cancelled and ordered from Vogtland USA (said on their website INSTOCK)... Vogtland says they are discontinued..... talk to another place that said they were not but they were back ordered 8 weeks... Tried to get H&Rs and they are discontinued... SO... I ordered Eibachs on the 5th... was told a couple days to ship... didnt hear anything, emailed and got a reply, Will know when they are shipping on the 11th... emailed again and got a reply " waiting from the manufacturer for a ship date", wait some more.... So today i email them again and.... i just got an automatic reply that reads-

"Unfortunately the items you ordered have been discontinued"

So now I have been told, vogtland, H&R, and Eibach have been discontinued for T-birds... WTF.... I dont get mad often, but im pissed as hell right now. I have a leaky airbag and just want to get the damn new suspension under the car.
 
yeah...thats where im at too..

are both spring sets discontinued from vogtland or just the 1.6" set?

I think im just going to make some coilovers with whatever frankenstein parts I can...

but the more I think about that, the more i'd rather just fast bag it with some custom shyte

just the 1.6" are said to be discontinued.... 1" is just not enough drop

summit and ebay have eibachs in stock.. im just pissed the place i ordered took 2 weeks to tell me no.

anyone ever heard anything aboue suspension techniques lowering springs?

I want a progressive spring.
 
thats what vogtland USA told me after i ordered a set from them (discontinued)... some other local dealers are telling me they are just on back order....
 
awww.. found 2 sets of 1.6" vogtlands.... ordered a set today and they shipped!! will be here monday!
 
I was over there reading about the AWD SC and saw his thread.

Neat car.

Sent him a PM about shipping.
