What is the part in front of master cylinder??????

Just purchased a 2000 LS 3.9l that was torn down by someone prior to me getting it. There is something missing in front of the master cylinder mounted on the strut tower?????. I found pic but there is a cover over it. does the a/c compressor or p/s pump need a bracket to mount or do the bolt directly on the block?? Thanks!!!

No one knows whats mounted to the left strut tower? I have a basket case and have know idea whatis supposed to go there! Please help...

I suspect you are talking about the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve.
