Getting ready to replace my brake pads soon and I'd like to take the opportunity to paint my calipers.

I have a Vivid Red 03 and I've seen Tmans with the calipers painted to match. As much as I'd like to do the same (and maybe I will in the future) it seems expensive to buy the color matched paint in addition to the primer required.

I'm thinking black, red, or silver. Red is the only color that would seem to really show up much, but I don't know how it would look with my "maroon" G2 factory paint.

Any shots of red calipers on Vivid LSes out there?

what kind of rims? black would barely show but u can see a cleaner difference.. red wouldnt last as long as black.. it all depends on u..

are u going to stay on top of them and keep them clean? if not.. go black.. if u are.. its in the air..

I have the stock chrome 03 rims (in my gallery). Not going to see much with those anyway, but a hint of red under there may look sporty... I guess I just need to play with photoshop to find out for sure.

Here are a few shots of my old '03 with Vivid Red Calipers.

That looks exactly like my ride from the outside TMan. Thanks for the shots.

Where did you buy your high heat primer?
Thanks.
Any auto parts store should have it. I believe I got my can at Pep Boys. If you can't find the high temp primer, try paint made for brake calipers or barbecues. The temp of the calipers doesn't get all that hot. Maybe 300 degs. tops, and that's just for a short time. That is unless you plan to auto cross or road race your LS.
:D
