I understand there is nothing better than a trusted source(especially when it comes to Mark VIIIs
) and perhaps would be why the Glitch ballast or OEM ballasts that you can find online are preferred when replacing the unit that powers up the attractive neon beam on the 2nd gen Mark VIIIs.
However, I came across a thread on another Mark VIII fansite where some cat made a topic about some online distributor that specializes in neon products etc and how he purchased a power unit for a mere $40 as an alternative to the already famous remedies.
http://www.amazing1.com/profneon.htm the DC45 unit is supposed to be the winner
So, the question is, is the ballast a specific one that lights up the neon beam that only Ford and Glitch are privy to, or can any ballast that meets the power requirements do the job?
