I've been shopping around for a 4wd vehicle for the winter since I lowered my LS. I wanted something I could pay cash for, so I don't have to worry about another payment.
As luck would have it, the girlfriend's car blew a head gasket (at least that's what I guess. water in oil. but could've been worse, as the cooling system would NOT hold pressure. would just pump more coolant into the crankcase.)
The next day, I found this. One owner, bought it new in 95, 102K on the clock.
Worked out perfect, since I had the money already saved, and she was without a car for only a couple days. Just sucks that now I have to start saving all over again, to get myself something to drive this winter.
Needs an idler pulley, and a new injector or 2, but other than that, it's in great mechanical shape.
I wish I had before pictures because it was FILTHY. Owner had 2 dogs that always went with them in the vehicle, so there was hair caked everywhere. The paint surface felt like sandpaper. so many contaminants. But those issues have been remedied.
Here's a couple pics after cleaning it up. I still need to try to correct the paint,as there are lots of swirls.
