Vacuum line coming from the middle of your intake manifold that leads to the passenger side fender... I'll bet it's either broken or has a crack in it.

That will do exactly as you describe.
Well.. when it's BROKE it'll only blow out the defrost... your scenario sounds like you have a leak.. not actually BROKEN.. look for a small crack or a leak at either end.

Hope this helps

+1

At higher RPM the vacuum of the engine is much lower thus pronounce the leak. This is also why some cars will blow heat at WOT.

For more of a reference, the hose connects to a vacuum tree sticking out of the drivers side of the intake manifold, sticking straight up and is over next to the drivers side valve cover.

If you have the engine cover still on the car, you will want to take it off to check this out.

if you cant duck it F$$$ IT !!!!!

Mcgyver can fix it with a stick of gum a match and foil from the gum.

no need to yell. i thought XLRVIII explained it fine. heres a pic. this hose should run into your pass fender. inside your fender is a vac canister, i bet its bypassed, then into the heater control.
