This has happened a few times now.
When I hit a pot hole or a speed bump, all electrical lights turn off inside the car. And the MPH & RPM gauges roll back and forth once or twice (not sure if the fuel and temp gauge did the same thing) .
Doesn't do it at every bump. But it's done it 2 or 3 times.
I figure something is shorting out. I also thought that maybe i smelled burned rubber... but it was very faint. Couldn't tell for sure.
Anyone had a similar problem that could point me to what's causing this?

Please help!

First: Are you 100% sure the battery terminal connections are snug and tight?
Second: Check the alternator connections for any signs of corrosion, especially the ground cable under there.

this happens in my buddys corolla, his alternator cant keep up with his :q:q:q:q, like stereo wise and the car will actually die driving if you have the stereo to loud, and his terminals are loose too. we have to keep a charger with us 24/7 lol
