Volvo Cross Country Wheels

I jsut got off the ohone with the guy and he said the tires are 215-50-17. I dont really know what that means or if thatll work with the LS. Any insight

They'll fit, but the tires will be almost 1" shorter than the LS's stock 235/50R17, so your speedo will read higher than you're going. (The 235s will have a sidewall height of 117.5mm, while the 215 sidewalls will be 107.5mm; that's a 10mm difference, multiplied by two, gives a 20mm overall height difference.)

In short, they'll fit in the wheel wells, but your speedo will be off.

As far as I can tell, the bolt pattern should be correct, but I don't know about the offset or brake caliper clearance...

how much off do you think the speedo will be off. itll be fine for a winter setup do you agree. do you think the car will look funny since the gap will be larger.

The error is a percentage, so the faster you go, the higher the error, and the slower you go, the lower the error. F'rinstance, if my back of the envelope calculations are correct, at 65mph indicated, you'll actually be going 63mph, but at 30mph indicated, you'll actually be travelling at 29mph. Of course, given the fact that most LS speedos seem to read high by ~2.5mph to begin with, you'll probably be going closer to 60mph when your speedo says 65mph.

If you have an SCT tuner, there's supposed to be a speedo correction variable that can be set. If you don't, your local Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer should be able to make the correction.
