I have done the search and I am just asking for confirmation. Is the VLCM up with the air ride compressor behind the splash shield on the Gen II?

Going to a wrecking yard tomorrow to maybe get me one and I am just trying to make sure.

Cooling fan siezed. I have since replaced the fan but when I turn on the a/c the fan does not start nor does the compressor. I know it could be a case of the system being low on gas but I don't think so. I am going to replace the VLCM as I believe that when the fan siezed it took out the controller.

I had this problem a month ago. I would suggest before you invest in a VLCM that you eliminate the other possibilities. Deb's former car had the same problem this past weekend at the Beach Party. A fan replacement was the problem. The fuse could've possibly popped on the AC. Check that first. Also, since you mentioned you replaced the fan, I would double check the fan first by jumpering it to make sure it works. Then check the connector to make sure it is making a tight connection. It's usually something simple.

Thanks GMAN. I will be out there this evening going over it to eliminate all the other possibilities for sure and I will get back later and let everyone know as well.

GMAN, thanks for kicking me in the ass on this one. Went out and checked it all over found the 40 amp fuse in the distribution panel under the hood cooked. Changed it with the rear defrost 40 amp and all is good to go.

Don't know why I completely bypassed fuses and went straight to VLCM as the problem. Either way I am fixed and all is running well.
