Had a misfire so i put it in the shop for vcg ,new plugs and 8 new coils from ebay, what elese can cause a misfire,no cel codes as of yet,:(

Other than plugs, coils, and the vcg? Pistons, Pistons rings, clogged injectors, fuel pump though not very likely as it would bog down the entire motor...

Im replacing one side of motors ignition this weekend sometime. Passenger side VCG, 4 coils from NAPA, and 4 new NGK platinum plugs.

Total was about $270 with free labor by myself and my uncle. I also get a discount on parts from NAPA as I have an uncle that works there, and one that manages the joint hehe.

on the way to the shop i got a code, however i had taken the scanner from the car the night before,i asked the shop to change the valve cover gasket,i didnt tell them i had a problem,i asked them to install the new sparkplugs and the coils from ebay so i wasnt raped on parts prices.after i picked it up it was purring like a kitten, when i returned home i checked the code said 6 cylinder misfire p306 .i kept all the old parts too.438 labor+200 for the parts from ebay +130 for the 2 gaskets and grommets.
