Just got back from local shop had all coils plugs and passenger side VC gasket done 2002 V8 total cost was $595.00 Motorcraft coils and plugs Victor reinz gasket all from Rock Auto. ( Parts $420 Labor $175.00. Drivers side was not leaking so he did not replace gasket. I thought that was not to bad What do you guys think?

Seems about right....labor could have been a bit less.

I guess that's not bad but you should of had him do both VCG's especially if you changed all the coils. Because when the other side starts leaking it will mess up the new coils.

why did you pay somebody to do it? changing plugs and coils is as easy as changing your oil. The gasket is a bit harder for newbies but its still pretty easy. This is like a 2/10 in difficulty, you could of saved yourself the labor cost.

Uhhh... I would defiantly rank it higher than a 2/10.. A 2/10 to me would be a oil change.. I would give it a 5 or 6 because it does take some knowledge and skill.. Someone that doesn't know what a socket is wouldn't be able to do it with ease or do it correctly imho..

My guess is that the shop you went to did not change out the driver's side because it is a pita. It took me an hour to do the passenger side. It took me two hours to do the driver's side. There is so much stuff on the driver's side that it is amazing that anyone can work around it. I used several different ratchets, wrenches, and universals to get some of the bolts out. Anyways, the driver's side is usually the better side from what I have seen here, but with the year of your LS, the driver's side is going to fail eventually.

Drivers side was done about 4 years ago. mechanic is very good friend of mine and i trust him when he said the drivers side was ok. I started to do coils on pass.side and found oil thats when i took it to shop.
