Valve cover gaskets

Quick couple of questions . . . Are the VC gaskets a dealer only part? How much do they cost? I need to pick-up ASAP so I can replace this weekend!

IIRC, you can only get them through the dealer... or someone like Torrie at FPN. I think it's $60-80 for the gasket kit that covers the VC's, the plug wells, and the two bolts in the center. When I did mine, I called a FLM Dealership. The parts person I talked to said that the gaskets came in a L and R kit and was quoted $38.18 for the left side, and $37.91 for the right. But they are from the dealership only.

BTW, you will want to get one of these in 7mm...

7mm i think you're referring to all the coil cover bolts. a ratcheting box wrench is a dream come true for those. especially the rear one's

7mm for the bolts that hold on the coil covers, 10mm for the VC bolts. These and a few extensions are a life saver!

Well here I am 2 days after doing my VC gaskets and I have sprung a leak! My life is one screw up after another . . . Now I get to do the drivers side all over again! I'm so excited to get in there and do it I can't wait.
I don't care what anyone says, I'm gonna use RTV at all the corners this time!!!
