v4 mustang

That's funny:D. But what's really funny is that Ford did actually make a V-4 powered Mustang in 1962.

This was the first concept Mustang, the "Mustang I". It had a mid-mounted 1.8L pushrod V-4 and 4-speed manual transaxle from a German Ford Cardinal. The engine was turned around from the way it was mounted in the Cardinal. In the Mustang I, it was mounted behind the front seats with the transaxle behind it. In the Cardinal, the engine was facing the firewall with the transaxle out in front of it driving the front wheels. Similar to the old Cord 810 design. It was originally meant to compete with the likes of MG and Triumph among others. A couple of prototypes were built but it obviously didn't make it into regular production, unfortunately.

Just a bit of useless trivia.:)
