So I'm upgrading my stereo system and was wondering if anybody knows how to install a compasitor. I'm going from one L5 to two L7s and don't want to mess up my battery.:dj:
3 amps. WOW
Actually I have an "old school" setup with 4 amps.
1. Rockford 1000 watt rms mono amp for subs.
2. Rockford 500 watt rms for the 4 door speakers-mids.
3. Alpine 200 watts rms for coneless Bass Shakers under front seats.
4. Soundstorm 100 watts rms for tweeters behind glovebox.
Also have
Kenwood 6042a 1/2 din EQ w +-12db and
Kenwood KEC 202 1/2 din 3 way crossover
where the ashtray used to be.
so I can control the overall EQ as well as the EQ and gain on all 4 amps from the dash.
The thing keeps popping my trunklid open![]()
Your car must be lound as :q :q what kind of subs do you have?
i am getting tired of my rearview repositioning itself straight down, but then again, what are you gonna do
Yea that does suck the thing that bugs me is no trunk space but i love a lot of bass.
If the poster above is running 2 JL L7's a capacitor is the worst idea. The draw from the subs would still dim his lights still. The best way is a 2nd battery set up.
that would leave a lot of room but it wouldn't hit as hard as it could because it wouldn't be to the specs for the L7s.
oh so true, especially since 15" L7's need at least 3 cubic ft per sub for a sealed box and 6 cubic ft per sub for a ported box
EDIT: i originally thought flowmaster had the 15's but after rereading i see that brian has the 15's and flowmaster'ss size was not listed, his specs might be different
