I put one on the lincoln and one on the truck. I have been runnin them for about 4 months now. I have noticed that they will only fill 1/3 of the way and thats it. It always has the same amout in it. no matter if I drain it at the gas station before work or I let it go for 2 weeks. IMO this setup is worthless. Upon dicking around with it under the hood, opening the throttle on it, the 1/3 full bowl will have the oil spin all the way up to the element in the filter, keeping it at 1/3 full at all times. The only idea I have for this to work right is a breather filter on the one side of the engine and a downdraft tube on the pcv.

hrm. never had this problem with my husky brand home depot oil seperator.

I am sure you put a new on in with the the seperator, but it sounds like the PCV valve is shot.

no the filter is still in it. I called my uncle who's been at gm 30+ years and he said I probably get most of my oil at startup in the mornings, living up north with the temperature cooling off so much at night creates alot of water vapor when the engine starts up in the morning. The vapor pulls alot of the oil through the pvc. but this does not fix the problem of the bowl holding a limited amount of oil. How much will you get in yours VR4? and how offten do you empty it, also how do you drive it? (get on it, or putt around).

Also I do not run a synthetic oil either.

take that filter out. i dont get much oil in mine and i drive very hard.
