So from what I'm reading here, Ford is now using Standard Motor Products Chine made coil as the Motorcraft part. Not something I'm as comfortable with from years ago when I last changed coils.

Looking at RockAuto's site it appears Denso is the other popular choice, and yet maybe it's my lack of searching ability, I don't see the Denso COP discussed. Any experience with these? I remember Denso being an OE supplier on other applications.

While my Motorcrafts were installed 37k ago, after my last winter overtemp I'm starting to record misfires on my iPhone Forscan app and seeing fuel pressure variations. Not sure which is affecting what, EMF screwing the FP sensor readings ...... or......

Update: Delphi nearing 10k and still going strong.

The push on this site is to purchase OEM only, but to me that is even now becoming a challenge. You can look through my history for fun reading on that. I chose the Delphi alternative due to the relationship with GM that existed. Denso relationship is Toyota, and I have always felt Toyota went more to the cheaper easier repaired side of the scale.

There was one poster that claimed to have Delphi failure within 6k miles, but he also had gone through about 4 brands while posting here. That probably suggests another issue existed for him.

You can get the Delphi couple bucks cheaper than the Denso on Rock auto if you want.
