So I have some spare hunks of window tint laying around, I was wondering if anyone thought about using it to tint turn signal lens's and bumper lens's like the film they sell for this purpose?

I've done it before. on my 2004 chrysler concorde, the turn signals, and i also used it on my brothers cadillac catera. corner lights and the 3rd brake light. its do-able

i would suggest the transparent tail light spray.. much easier and a cleaner look. but the piece of tint will work fine on a smooth flat surface.

Thanks for that Dubbed LS. Im beginning to think about it chipping on the bumper lens since its exposed where the turn signal lens is in the headlight. Did you have any problems with that?

LsUnV2, I would do any of the films over the spray. That crap in a can is garbage and the film is by far way more clean than the caned crap.

noo the temperature isnt too high.. it stayed on just fine without any problems. when i get on my other computer i will show u some pictures of spray in the can. and i will show u the actual film.

Im talking about the road debris causing chips.

You dont need to show me anything dude. I have been down that road with he rattle can plenty of times and know of enough people as well and it all sucks. When sprayed out of a gun with a better mixture its really, really nice but the rattle can just does not impress me at all.

yea yea yea!!!

WELL EXCUSE ME FOR TRYING TO HELP!

who knows what it will do on ur car. didnt do nothing to mine..

Hey man I wasn't trying to be rude to yah dude. I was being sincere I do appreciate the help but I have been in so many discussions about the spray it makes my head spin.;)

jwerner, im no tinting expert so i was wondering if i can use just reg tint on my reverse lights and im sure i can but ho do i get it to sit flat and smooth on the curved surface

Google around for a tinting DIY. You can find videos on youtube. Thats what I did when I re-did my windows. Its pretty much going to be the same thing. If you dont want to use actual window tint the stuff from Lamin-x and other companies is a bit more durable but I have some extra tint sitting here doing nothing that for some reason I saved so Im giving this method a shot.

I agree with Dubbed on this one because I have used the spray can tint (VHT nightshade) and have had no problem with it. If you just take your time with it and prep it correctly, you can make it look just as clean as your paint job.

It was also very easy to work with but a little time consuming. Finished product looks great.
