I installed an Kicker CVR 12 in the back and the trunk lid rattles out of this world. I want to install some eDead as I am doing a lot of other mods and don't want to dish out the money right now for a professional install of dynamat. I have heard good things about eDead and would like to try it.

My question involved the circular things circled in red in the pic. I think they are pop rivets. If so how do i remove them and then replace them. I guess i could buy them from the ford dealership. But I am a bit uncertain.

After i get that off, I know how to place the sound deadner on the surface. Just stick and make sure its a good seal and it should be fine from what I have read. However any ideas you all have would be helpful. Did you all also put the fabric back over the de3adner when finished to maintain more of a stock look. Thanks all.

Sound Clip/Movie

Here is a small movie for you to hear how bad the rattle is. I have to turn my music down whenever I'm near any other cars or people passing by. It will really suck at college next year if i dont get this problem fixed.

those things pop off.. get ur hand behind it and pop them off.. then u can put the Edead on and then put those rivets right back on to hold the peice in place even better..

u might want to check ur license plate.. or ur chrome trim before u jump onto the deck lid and assume THATS rattling.. its usually the hardest part to rattle cause its held by the lock mechanism and the metal arms.. even after i suicided my trunk i didnt get rattle.. but i did dynamat the trunk so i dont know..

There is a special tool to remove the push-pins but you don't need it. You can use a screwdriver to pull them out a little. Then use a pair of "dikes" or needle nose or something similar to pull them out. Thats how I did them. Had no problems. Good luck

my liscense plate also rattles but i fixed that ....as far as the chrome trim...i dont have that on my car except directly on the trunk. i dont have the chrome pacage. And from what my friends and I hear its defintielty the top of the trunk, b/c when i press down really hard on it the rattle stops

so just dynamat the top trunk lid.. i was charged 100 to dynamat the whole trunk.. top to bottom.. it sounds great and i have no regreats..

I just did my trunk lid in my mark vIII, and theres still a few things that i've gotta do.. The lids still rattling. Im thinking of some spray foam to seal up the inside of the lid

i had 4 15's in my 94 towncar and put 2 layers of dynamat and it still rattled, dont know why ppl wont just put dynamat on by themselves, its easy just cut and paste
