Speculation suggests the 6060 has the correct shifter positioning for the VIII. But, from which car?

Also, I assume the corvette 6060 is a rear mount trans, so would not work?

These were put in australia's holdens, '08+; challenger, 08+; GT500 '07+, etc.

Did the manufacturer give everybody one length option?

Would I need a GT500 bellhousing, or would one from a 03-04 cobra still bolt to the 6060?

I haven't even checked mcleoud yet. This is a newer tranny, probably with limited aftermarket at this point.

After reading up on the 6060, I'm sold. The gear meshing characteristics and shifting efforts, along with the 600lb torque rating is awesome. I would like to gather all info possible so I have my ducks in a row.

Thanks to all useful info.

The trans should be from a GT500 and i THINK that the 5.4 and 4.6 bellhousing are the same but i am not sure.

The 5.4 and 4.6 do share the same bolt pattern, and I know the 3650 out of the 05+ mustang GT has the shifter in the right spot, so presumably the cobra trans would have the shifter in the right spot too. It would be a cool swap if you could find the trans cheap enough, but I don't think there are a whole lot of them out there, so they will probably command a pretty high premium.
