Does anyone know of an inexpensive way to "cure" the transmission shudder my '95 Town Car has around 35 to 45 mph.? The Ford garage where we live is a "rip-off"--
Thanks, Geener

The transmission in the '95 is not the AOD that Sixlitre is referring to.

The recommended solution for the shudder in the '95 is a transmission flush and refill with new fluid. Originally, the recommendation was also to add an additive called Lubegard, but my understanding is the most recent version of Mercon (Mercon V) doesn't require the Lubegard additive. A Lincoln-Mercury dealer can give you the definitive answer.

In addition to what RB3 said --
Do the flush every 30/35k miles. Flushing gets all the old fluid out, far superior to draining everything.
