Transmission Identification

I have an 04 3.0 and found a good used trans out of an 05 3.9, are these two 5r55s's identical? What do the numbers on the tag mean? Besides the build date.

Pretty sure the transmission for the V6 uses a different case than the V8. Where it bolts to the engine is different.

Yes, the bell housing is different between the two.
