So a couple of months ago my transmission started shifting very hard in my 2003 LS V8 from 2-3 and in reverse and so I did my research and found that the most common issue for my 5R55S transmission is for the solenoid pack/solenoid block to fail around the 100,000 mile mark. My car is well over 130,000 miles now and so i bit the bullet and bought a solenoid pack from Ford for around $400. The next day I installed it and put a new Trans filter and pumped in about 7 quarts of Mercon V. I reset the PCM by putting alligator clips on the negative battery connector that was disconnected and connected the other side to the positive connector. I started her up and she ran fine but my "check transmission" codes would not go away, but the car ran perfectly. I called Ford and asked why the codes wouldn't go away and they said that the connector probably wasn't seated properly, I tried it and they were right that it wasn't down all the way and so the codes disappeared but the harsh shifting is back. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
Sorry for the length but I didn't want to be short in detail so I can get as much help as possible. If anyone could be kind enough to help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
~Shady
