So a couple of months ago my transmission started shifting very hard in my 2003 LS V8 from 2-3 and in reverse and so I did my research and found that the most common issue for my 5R55S transmission is for the solenoid pack/solenoid block to fail around the 100,000 mile mark. My car is well over 130,000 miles now and so i bit the bullet and bought a solenoid pack from Ford for around $400. The next day I installed it and put a new Trans filter and pumped in about 7 quarts of Mercon V. I reset the PCM by putting alligator clips on the negative battery connector that was disconnected and connected the other side to the positive connector. I started her up and she ran fine but my "check transmission" codes would not go away, but the car ran perfectly. I called Ford and asked why the codes wouldn't go away and they said that the connector probably wasn't seated properly, I tried it and they were right that it wasn't down all the way and so the codes disappeared but the harsh shifting is back. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

Sorry for the length but I didn't want to be short in detail so I can get as much help as possible. If anyone could be kind enough to help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
~Shady

I need the same help not sure if its just normal for the tranny to shift hard the reserve will stall before it gets in gear and then when it does I think because the build up of pressure without being seated in the gear it hits hard. I also have a click when I'm in reverse backing in my driveway and then go to park I have started backing up in the driveway then putting it in drive and then to park because I don't get the click what should we do guys also in my garage I can hear the car better and when I move the gear to park the pips have a kinda choping sound from the smother sound when its in any other gear

Alright another update guys. The past couple days the "kick" has still been there but only now and then. Before it was every time it shifted into 3rd that it kicked and now it only happens once or twice when I drive. I still have no idea what It could be...
