How are you guys doing. I'm debating on who I want to do my transmission flush I have 70,000 miles on an 02 LS. Ok Thread Quaters will do it for $129.00 and the lincoln dealership said they would do it for $235.00. I'm asking because I want it done correctly is it something I need to be aware of as far as who will do it correctly? Appreciate the feedback.

The OK one may just be dropping the pan.. Maybe that's why its soo cheap.. Either way, I would stand there to make sure they do it..

Ok fastlls what would I be looking out for? So i could know what there suppose to be doing?

my dealership does it for 169, now that is not dropping the pan but they do flush though new fluid. if i were doing it my self i would flush it,drop the pan and replace the "filter" and gasket. but thats me.

That may be what his dealership is quoting $235 for. If so, then it is reasonable.
To do it exactly right, you need a Ford specific scan tool. Of course, the $129 place might have that.
Personally, I wouldn't risk a few thousand dollars worth of transmission to save a hundred dollars. If you trust the dealer, go there. If you trust the other place, go there. If you trust neither, then find someone you do trust, or don't do it at all.

Yea I understand you clearly joegr. I think dealership is my safe bet. So Im going to let them do it. Thanks for all the input.

just out of curiosity, whats the need for the scan tool, is it just to reset something in the computer, or is there something specific that they need to be monitoring?
