The other day I was on my way to work and it was raining, I stopped at a stop sign and started to go got a little wheel spin cause I was going up hill than the CHECK TRANSMISSION AND E popped up in my message center.

It still has all gears, shifts well from 2-3 but from 3-4 it shifts hard enough where it bucks a little bit and the shift to 5th is fine also if I shift it to reverse it shifts kinda hard now.

The first day the CHECK TRANSMISSION AND E came on I dident start it for like 2 hours and the CHECK TRANS and E was gone but it came back 15 mins after being started and now stays on when started.

Already disconnected the battery for 15mins and dident help.

Can anyone help.

Just to let you know I can still use SST but cant see what gear im in.

Trans has less than 15000 miles on it just to let yall know. And it was a brand new trans not rebuilt, and has the new case design.

Bad battery can cause the car to act strange. Error messages when everything else is working fine.

Can the bad battery cause the trans to act up to. Cause this isent the first time this has happend 3 months ago on a nice day to just out of now where the trans started acting funny and the CHECK TRANS and E was on for like 2 hours and when on my way home just went away and started shifting right.

If its not your battery it's probly your shift solenoid inside the trans pan going bad. Mine caused intermittent rough shifting like you are describing with the 'E'

Ohh lord thats not what I wanted to hear but it makes sense thank god that I have a warrenty for the trans.

It may just be a bad electrical connection at one of the connectors external to the transmission. You might want to check them. You certainly want to check to see what codes have been triggered. I wouldn't want to risk doing damage to such a new transmission.

Thats another thing I was thinking was a bad electrical connection. The transmission is the only real problem I have had with this car.

I was hoping you were going to say you had a warranty. How much was the transmission?

Well the transmission was $4200 brand new with the new case design and like $1500 in labor BUT I dident pay a dime cause I bought a 3 year warrenty with the car when i bought it. I bought the car from a Toyota Dealership for $8000 and $3000 for the 3 year warrenty so $11000 total and trust me the warrenty was and is worth it, $5700 at the Trans shop and also 2 weeks payed Rental car by Toyota care, which I was givin a 2012 Ford Focus SEL by Enterprise.
