A few days ago i realized that my transmission was leaking fluid.
For a while i would notice a strange smell when i would get off of my car. Kind of like a burnt smell. Finally figured out she's leaking.
Every once in a while, when taking off in first gear, the car wont move. It will accelerate, then after about 2 -3 second, it will quickly take off. (very dangerous when crossing lanes)
Does it sound like the whole transmisison is shot? Or would repairing the leak possibly take care of the stalling on 1st gear?

Hope this is enough information. I'm hoping someone else here has experienced this :(

Sounds like low fluid. Was the burning smell coming from the leaking fluid burning off?

Don't know how long it has been since a transmission flush but you might want to try that. They maybe able to tell where the leak is.

yes. that's my guess. I just want to be sure about what to do. I dont want to pay to get the transmisison gaskets resealed, if there might be a bigger problem

If you continue to drive with low fluid, you will remove all doubt about the transmission being shot. (You're killing it.)
The leak needs to be found ASAP and the fluid level corrected. The leak could be a simple thing, like the pan gasket or even just a loose cooling line connection, or it could be more complicated like a shaft seal.
Doing a flush before finding the leak would be foolish. Repairing the leak may require fluid replacement again anyway.
