So I'm going to be taking care of my transmission here in a few. Jmod is with out a doubt the way to go. However since max retired I was wondering if it would be worth getting a transgo or some other shift kit that includes springs and valves and other stuff that can be replaced in the valve body but instead of actually drilling into the valve body like transgo would have you do. just use the parts and then modify the seperator plate.

So im totally up for suggestions in addition to the 1-2 and the 2-3 theres a few parts in the valve body id like to replace as well. like the pressure control solinode for my 96 and the pressure regulator vavle.

so anyway thats my question and or idea.

Baumaan Engineering OR J-mod. Take your pick but forget the trans-blow kits. Alan at Dirty Dog Performance can hook you up with a separator plate kit already done up. It comes with the plate pre-drilled, accumulators and the springs. I'm not sure about Baumann, but they are good also.

I am using the Dirty Dog kit. I have been rocking it for over 2 years and haven't had any issues other than the fact I lose a little rubber on the 1-2 shift. ;)

ive seen his stickers.. but does he also include the other stuff like the valves. do ya have a link to his kit. and yea it doesnt have to be a transgo im thinking any descent kit for the easy access to all the parts at once. know what i mean

Here's the link to his kit:

You may want to call him about those other parts. Otherwise, you should be able to get them from a local transmission parts supplier. That's what I did to replace the shift solenoids, torque converter clutch solenoid, and harness.

You have a first generation so I would get the whole replacement valve body from Alan at Dirty Dog. Gives you every thing you need. You just tell him how firm you want it. Thats what I'm running in a otherwise stock transmission and I'm very pleased.
