Ok, I posted this last night but since the site was hacked it is of course, gone. I only got to read one reply and was wondering if there was any other input.

What I asked was, everyone knows that in a manual it is not good to leave the car in gear and the clutch engaged for too long because it ruins/screws up the tranny or whatever so its best to put it in neutral if you are sitting at a long red light or what have you. Now, my ? is, does having the LS(auto) in drive while sitting for a sort of long time do any type of damage or effect anything in the long run and is good to shift it to neutral if you are sitting for a decent period of time.

I know someone said that shifting to N and D often does do something, kind of noticeable w/ that "kick" feeling. So, whatever info is appreciated. I've done the shift to N a couple of times while waiting in traffic.

I wouldn't shift to neutral while waiting in traffic unless I sat without moving for 5 minutes or more. If you sat for a long time in drive without moving the transmission fluid would probably heat up.
