So i got my car back today, I had tog et a new ball joint and it was this whole big peice.. i get the car back anf after driving it for awhile the Traction control light came on and i can not shut it off and the ABS light is on.. do you think when he put the wheel back on to replace the ball joint he did something with the wheel sensor? will it just be a real quick repair? I am suppose to leave for florida tomorrow mourning, driving but my car has been in the shop everything is going wrong at the worst times

I know when I had to replace my ball joint on my other car. I managed to make ABS sensor go bad. Did not take much either, but my car has 165k on it.

If you know how to do pin point test (you need the directions from the Ford CD) so you can find out if the sensor is bad. The odds are if you had one side replaced it is probally that same side thats bad. The pin point test would just confirm it so you don't waste money buying new sensor if it something else is wrong.

My educated guess would be the sensor is bad.

Good Luck

make sure the mounting surfaces are clean and there is no damage to the tone ring and sensor end. The clearances are critical.
