Wish me luck. Providing it doesn't rain I plan on running at the local 1/8 mile track tonight. Temps should be in the 60's. I'm not going for my quickest time tonight. actually I plan on doing more of a comparison run. My car is an all stock 97 lsc except for a drop in K&N air filter, gutted air box, NGK TR6 plugs, and a walboro 255 fuel pump. I have two 8" subs, box and amp in the back. I'm also leaving the spare and a small tool kit in the trunk. I'm ruining on Goodyear Assurance 225/60-16 and a 3/4 full tank of fuel. Reason I'm leaving everything in is because I figure this will give a real world time. If I ever get into on the street with someone, then all that stuff will be back there anyways.

My comparison runs will be a stock tune vs a tune from Torrie vs a 125 nitrous shot and tune from Torrie. Now I plan on getting into the 8's with the nitrous, if I don't, then I will start chucking things out of the trunk.

If I don't see 8's then I'm probably selling the car:D Well maybe.

Well, at least the track gave me a free pass for the next time I go since I had already paid before they called it for rain (it didn't even end up raining just a little lightning and thunder).

Englishtown has given me a free pass teice now. Once for rain and once for track being shut down by a Honda wetting down the track. I think I had already got 2 runs in on one of the days too :D

A couple of weeks ago I got to make one pass in low 60 degree weather. Here's the result:
Reaction 1.171
60' 2.274
330' 6.409
594' 9.155
1/8 ET 9.761
1/8 MPH 74.25

Friday I got to run again. The temp was about 74, humidity was high, and I'd been sicker than a dog but I figure it was the last cool night we'd have for a while. Also since the run I ran above I have hollowed out the cats.
Stock:
Reaction 1.556
60' 2.392
330' 6.638
594' 9.450
1/8 ET 10.071
1/8 MPH 72.46

with a tune:
Reaction 1.112
60' 2.418
330' 6.678
594' 9.453
1/8 ET 10.071
1/8 MPH 72.81

with a 125 shot:
Reaction .630
60' 2.363
330' 6.189
594' 8.672
1/8 ET 9.219
1/8 MPH 82.28

Track was sprayed heavily and felt like I was driving in water. Most of the other street cars with street tires were having issues as well. I found the run with the tune interesting. The car was making up for what I lost in the 60' and had this been 1/4 mile track, I think tuned run would have been better than the stock run.

I just got a GoProHD so I can't wait to get back to the track and post a vid of my blazing 15 sec quarter :shifty:

Time for gears and a tune for me

Those GoPro's are SICK cameras for drag racing.

Got mine more for my commute to work everyday. Last week a older SL Benz lost it on Rt78 went up the divider and spun backwards in the 3rd lane. He was lucky nobody tagged him that I saw but it was something I wish I got on camera.

Now that I have the GoPro nothing will ever happen again :(
