Just had the tranny flushed and filter replaced on the 96. The tech said the torque converter seal is leaking. The tranny shifts fine, no rumble strips even when the engine is bogging at 1000rpm going up a hill. Should I start saving up for a new torque converter and seal or can the stock one last like this for awhile if I keep checking/adding fluid?

Torque converter seal... also known as front pump shaft seal is around the stator shaft against the pump... you don't need a new torque converter unless you're having problems with the one you have now. You might be able to get to the seal with a pick... please forgive me if I'm wrong, I haven't had an AODE apart.

If it was what he said, then I think I replaced mine. I know I did the pump seal and some others. It was really easy. Of course my trans was right in front of me, not in the car so I may be a bit partial to how easy it was
