Tires Question..Falken Ziex ZE-912

I run them. They are all right. I can't wait until they are used up all the way, though. They are currently 5x louder than my snow tires, I am assuming, due to alignment issues. The fronts are cupped badly -- so much so that they actually transmit the bumps from the cupping, into the car when just barely moving! I never had grip issues when new on snow, but just light stuff. I would not run any Z-rated or higher in the NH winter and expect decent performance. They work in the rain, pretty well. When they break loose, they break loose well! I took too much speed into a turn-off at my local airport (MHT, NH) and slid sideways a good 25 feet, nearly sliding into a granite median. When it stopped sliding, I resumed the throttle and promptly nearly did a 180. I sure felt silly but was very happy to have not come into contact with that granite curb, or an oncoming auto or truck.

I had the 512's on my Aveo and the 912's on the LS. I think they blow in the snow (decent amount of snow in Pittsburgh) so I will be getting rear snow tires. They seemed good in front for steering though. But ROTATE, ROTATE, ROTATE, they have 360 tread wear rating and wear fast on the corners. I dont think I'd get them again ONLY for the fact its a heavy car and I want the highest tread wear rating I can get. Im not looking to take turns like a porsche. I dont loose traction much but like milehighmikey said, when they break free, they want to keep spinning. But I dont think they are loud.

I had 512s on my old Avenger, wouldn't buy them again. Like workin ike said,t hey are bad in snow, and even in heavy rain IMO. They also seemed to wear down pretty quick, I was disappointed with the life.

Well dont get me wrong. I dislike the wear but not disapointed with the performance. If you can run seperate snow tires I sugest them if you need them as all seasons, dont get them for sure.

I've got them on now and they've been great. Even in the light snow they worked fine. Rain has never been an issue and they have surprised me with the traction, both wet and dry. Road noise has not been an issue. Over all I am very pleased with them, especially for the money I spent on them.
