I have a set of 18x8's picked out for my car, and I'm going with 245-45's on the front but I was hoping to go a little wider in the rear while keeping a similar diameter. Anyone else running a wider tire than a 245 on an 8 inch wheel?

Depends on your wheels offset, some members run 275's easily, some run 285's and beyond.

275-40-18 rubber on a 8" wide wheel isnt going to work. Might sound like a good idea now but in the end you will have wasted your money.

If you have 18X8 wheels you are pretty much stuck running 245-45-18 tires all the way around if you want it to be right. You will be able to rotate your tires too, which will extend the tire life ALOT.

If you dont have the wheels yet and you want to run a 275-40-18 then get a 18X9 with the correct offset and know its done right.

Thanks Brad, After tinting my car yesterday and washing it today, I realized Chrome saleens are the only way to go on a black car. I'll be giving you a call by the end of the week.
