Tire fitment, 18inch rims on 04 LS

So I have recently picked up some decent 18inch jaguar rims for my car, so my question is what size tire should I use? The guy I bought them from gave me a pretty decent set of 235/40/18s but will they fit? Or will there be unwanted rubbing in the wheel wells from it being a wider tire? Does anyone currently run tires this size that might know??? or will I need to get some new tires?

First of all, pics!

Secondly, rubbing will depend on the specs of the wheels as well, not just the tire. However, since they are Jag wheels they probably have a high enough offset that you shouldn't run into rubbing issues, especially at stock height and 235mm wide tires (same width as stock, not wider).

Thirdly, 235/40 IMO is too little of a tire. I have run 245/40s with Jag 18s with no issues, and would recommend them. Some may even recommend 255/40 (LS4me?) for a bit more sidewall.

Yup!!!! Love my 255/40 Bridgestones on my Jag Tucana 18" wheels. These wheels have a (IIRC) 49mm offset and I get no rubbing at all with Eibachs.

heres a pic of the wheels! I got them off Ebay from a guy that lives near me for $255 wheels and tires. i want to do them black but im not sure to do a flat or gloss black :/

And i think i will just use the tires that came with them for this summer since they still have some good tread left on them. These are going to be my summer wheels anyway and i will prolly just wait and get some new rubber next spring and maybe i can do 245s in the rear and 235s up front for a bit of stagger

Try plasti-dip to see how you like the look of matte black. If you don't, just peel it off.
